When the community calls for better health, we believe in answering.
Lordsland Medical Centre recently took its commitment to promoting health and wellness beyond the walls of the medical centre through a dedicated wellness outreach programme at Botswana Accountancy College (BAC).
The initiative brought the Lordsland Wellness Team directly to the college community, creating an opportunity for students and staff to engage with healthcare professionals, learn more about their health, and take proactive steps towards their overall wellbeing.
Health Beyond the Consultation Room
Healthcare is not only about treating people when they are sick. It is also about education, prevention, awareness, and encouraging people to take responsibility for their health.
This is why community outreach remains an important part of what Lordsland Medical Centre does.
By taking healthcare professionals into workplaces, educational institutions, and communities, we can create conversations around health that may otherwise be overlooked in people’s busy everyday lives.
At Botswana Accountancy College, the outreach programme provided an opportunity to promote wellness in an environment where young people and professionals spend a significant part of their daily lives.
The Lordsland Wellness Team in Action
The outreach was centred around engaging with the BAC community and encouraging individuals to pay closer attention to their health.
The Lordsland Wellness Team used the opportunity to share health information, interact with members of the college community, and encourage a culture of preventive healthcare.
These interactions are important because sometimes a simple conversation with a healthcare professional can encourage someone to take a health concern seriously, seek medical advice, or make healthier choices.
Why Wellness Outreach Matters
Modern lifestyles can make it easy to put health on the back burner.
Students may be focused on their studies, while staff and professionals often have demanding work schedules. Between academic responsibilities, work, family, and other commitments, regular health checks and healthy habits can sometimes be neglected.
Wellness outreach programmes help bring health awareness directly to people where they live, learn, and work.
They also create opportunities to discuss important health matters in a familiar and accessible environment.
Building a Healthier Community Together
At Lordsland Medical Centre, we believe that improving community health requires collaboration.
Medical facilities, educational institutions, businesses, families, and individuals all have a role to play in creating healthier communities.
Our outreach at Botswana Accountancy College is one example of how partnerships can help bring health and wellness closer to the people who need it.
It is also a reminder that healthcare does not have to begin at the doctor’s office. Sometimes, it begins with a conversation, a health awareness session, a screening, or simply encouraging someone to make their wellbeing a priority.
When They Called, We Answered
The message behind the outreach was simple:
When the community calls, Lordsland Medical Centre is ready to answer.
Through initiatives such as the Botswana Accountancy College wellness outreach, Lordsland Medical Centre continues to support a culture of health awareness, prevention, and informed decision-making.
We are proud of our Wellness Team for taking healthcare beyond the consultation room and into the community.
Because better healthcare is not only about being there when people are sick.
It is about being there to help people stay well.
